The Australian Network for Japanese Law (ANJeL) is a network of over 350 scholars, practitioners, policy-makers, senior students and others interested in Japanese law drawn from Australia, Japan, and around the globe.
Team Australia was a founding member of the INC consortium, thanks largely to the vision of ANJeL Advisor and co-founder, Professor Kent Anderson. His commitment in the early years of the competition enabled successive Team Australia cohorts to participate in (and excel at) this prestigious competition. Current ANJeL Director Professor Luke Nottage and A/Professor Stacey Steele have been key academic supporters of Team Australia.
ANJeL Advisor Professor Veronica Taylor was the co-ordinating lead coach for Team Australia from 2013-2021, working alongside ANJeL alumni Kieran Pender and Timothy Magarry. ANJeL alumna A/Professor Carol Lawson was lead coach in 2019, working with ANJeL alumna Yukino Kanazawa. ANJeL alumna Eriko Kadota has been a mentor for the Japanese language sub-team for Team Australia over several years. ANJeL Co-Convenor (Education) James Fisher has been co-ordinating lead coach since 2022.
